Biography
Karen Moe is photographer and performance artist who has exhibited across Canada. Her work has been included in a variety of magazines and journals like West Coast Line and Subterrain. Her photographs have also been featured in two books of poetry: “Cusp/ detritus: an experiment in alleyways” with poet Catherine Owen (Anvil Press 2006) and “Dog” with poets Joe Rosenblatt and Catherine Owen (Mansfield Press 2008). She recently performed “Lethe: a mock metaphysics” in New York City Festival and exhibited “Lethe/ Detritus” at Gallery DK in Toronto. Her project Wilderness that focuses on farm animals was recently included in "Animal as Subject: Exploring the Complex Relationships between Human and Animal" at Gallery Gachet. Her newest project, Princess, is a series of 'self' portraits where she dresses herself as a little girl and playfully deconstructs cultural notions of innocence and girlhood.

Moe also runs a portrait business where the same attention to detail, originality and passion create unique personalized portraits.
