Christie Clayton
Raised in, Nelson, a unique small city nestled in the interior of BC, Canada, Christie, was taught to sew and read patterns by her mother at the young age of 9. Through her teenage years and early 20's she made many costumes and outfits for dance parties always pushing the edge of what was in style. In 2005 she graduated from The Vancouver Community Colleges Advance Fashion Arts Program with great enthusiasm for the industry. Before starting up her own line she worked with Dirty Laundry, a hot Vancouver children's clothing label, Kulpa, a sophisticated women's line and Miss Fancy Pants, a women's dance wear costumer. With some experience and big ideas, Christie, created Carny Love in 2007. One year later was a finalist for BC Fashion Weeks Generation Next competition garnering her the cover of the Vancouver Metro as well as press form Fashion Magazine and other reputable publications. With all the recent success of Carny Love, Project Runway Canada 2009 seized her potential and chose Christie to be a contestant on the show airing on the Global and Slice Networks. Since her television debut Christie, has been seen on Entertainment Tonight and written about in Elle Magazine just to name a few. In just three short years she has gone from local to national there is no doubt that Christie, is a fashion force to be reckoned with.
