Bio:

With a propensity for lengthy internal monologues, I have come to realize that nothing is new but merely appropriated from something else. There are no new ideas. Although this fact alone may be the source of eternal despair for any creative person, it is both humbling and inspiring. All I can aim to be is a maker – a maker of things; a maker of visual casseroles. The beginning of my “academic education” post secondary took root at the University of British Columbia, in pure sciences, nutrition and agroecology. With the idea of helping others by cutting, feeding or splitting, I later came to realise that maybe my talents lay in helping others with an emotional, visceral experience rather than the literal inspection of viscera. As the days went on, it became blatantly clear that I would rather doodle all day on scraps of paper instead of memorize all the amino acids known to man. Emily Carr University became my new Alma Mater after a failed attempt at being “scientific.” To me, Emotional fulfilment is just as poignant as scientific discovery, if not more elusive and more misunderstood. I aim to communicate.
My background is in printmaking (intaglio, relief, screen), painting and metal sculpture. Lately, I have been focusing on drawing with ink and watercolour on paper.
