Bio:
Miranda Lievers is a Vancouver based ceramic artist, crafter, photographer, and creative small business owner/supporter/advocate. After jumping ship from her fast-track corporate life and the related business degree she'd been working towards, she dove head on into the photography studio she started with her husband Reilly (also participating in the culture crawl this year). In their 9th year now, their company Blue Olive Photography has earned countless accolades including the title Best Wedding Photographers in Vancouver 2 years in a row (Georgia Straight Readers Choice) and has been named among the most inspiring photographers in Canada (Weddingbells Magazine). Like photography, as an artist she is mostly self-taught – with a wonderful mentor or two along the way. Miranda's typography inspired line is in part about turning the boxes that constrain artists around – she's inspired by typography, by the pages of old books, by beautiful advertisements found in 100 year old journals. She has focused on her inspiration rather than her medium in developing her line. She expresses that inspiration through art and craft in a variety of mediums – primarily, paper craft, ceramics, and fabric based printmaking techniques. Outside of running her busy photography studio or working on her product line, Miranda can usually be found throwing parties to connect like-minded people; speaking, hosting, and giving workshops on topics that she's passionate about; or diving into new artistic and crafty pursuits.
