ART is a prime focus of my life. Even when occupied with family or business, I am conceptually painting and planning future works. Just a short walk to the grocer's and an imaginary painting has been created.
I was always occupied with art projects - even when a young child, I never missed an opportunity to take an art class whenever I could. Being interested in biology, I ended up doing formal training as a medical illustrator. This led to illustrating one book, followed by the production of many large medical teaching exhibits. I enjoyed the creation of these exhibits, making 8' high, partially 3-d panels of the retina, for example, It was here that the notion came to do very large pieces of fine art with biological themes.
Over the past few years, I have explored mixed media and the creation of surface texture. Some of my paintings have been done on crinkled Kraft paper which is then stretched over a board; the resulting rich textural effect is then created by the liquid paint pooling on the surface.
