Eri Ishii is a Vancouver artist working mostly in oil painting. She has exhibited her work in solo and group shows in Canada, Europe, and in Japan, and her works can be seen in numerous public and private collections. Eri’s canvases are covered in layers of delicate, lightly applied oil paint where the subject is given a dreamy and atmospheric quality, filled with visual depth and a strange sense of ennui and nostalgia. Eri believes that visual art has a unique ability to tap into the subconscious and connect people which no other thing can. She is represented by Ian Tan Gallery in Vancouver and Canvas Gallery in Toronto. Her next solo show will be in Ian Tan Gallery in May, 2012.
